$NADIRThe daily satellite ballot

Every day, holders pick one place on Earth. We point a satellite at it.

$NADIR routes its creator fees into satellite imagery. Holders nominate coordinates and vote; the winner is imaged and published to the Atlas with its capture data and an onchain fingerprint.

How a day works

One clock for everyone. Nominations, the ballot and the order all run on UTC, and every ballot ends in a published frame.

24 hours, then the frame

Your clock: --:-- UTC

  1. 0100:00 UTC

    Nominations open

Any holder nominates one place: coordinates to three decimals and a one-line reason. Holders second the nominations they like, one second per wallet.

  2. 0212:00 UTC

    Top 8 make the ballot

The eight nominations with the most seconds go to the ballot. Moderators strike any that break the ballot rules, and the next one moves up.

  3. 0320:00 UTC

    Ballot closes

A holder snapshot is taken at 20:00:00. Your vote weighs what you hold at the snapshot, and no wallet counts for more than 1% of the votes cast.

  4. 0420:00–24:00

    Order placed

The winner is ordered at the highest tier the treasury covers. Tier 0 always; Tier 1 or 2 when fees cover it. Paid orders get a receipt with the price.

  5. 05Next day

    Frame published

The frame goes to the Atlas with its capture data, and its SHA-256 is written to Solana. Fresh tasking can take days; the Tier 0 frame is published in the meantime.

The Atlas

One frame a day, kept in public

Every winner lands here with its capture data and its fingerprint. The Atlas starts with Day 000.

Published frames 0The five tiles after Day 000 are examples: rendered illustrations of what frames will look like, not captures.

DAY 000 The first frame lands the day after the first ballot.

Frame metadata

Every frame carries its capture data

The Atlas records what the satellite recorded, not just a picture. These are the fields on every frame, with example values.

TargetThe winning coordinates as nominated, to three decimals (about 110 m). Examples are rendered, so they have none.

SensorCommercialSatellite and instrument. Commercial sensors are named on the receipt.
BandsR · G · BWhich wavelengths make the picture. False color swaps in near-infrared, so plants show red.
GSD50 cmGround sample distance: the ground width of one pixel. Smaller is sharper.

Off-nadir17.9°How far from straight down the sensor looked. 0° is directly overhead, the nadir.
Sun elevation66.4°Height of the sun at capture. Low sun means long shadows and more relief.

Check a frame yourself

Download the original file from the Atlas and hash it on your own machine. Then open the frame's Solana transaction and compare the 64 characters in its memo. If a single pixel changed, they won't match.

Ballot rules

What can't be picked

Moderators strike nominations that break these rules before the ballot is set. Every strike is listed in public with the rule it broke.

  • No private homes

Houses, gardens or any target that shows where a person lives.

  • No people

Targets picked to show or follow a person, a crowd or an event where people gather.

  • No military or critical infrastructure

Bases, weapons sites, power plants, dams, ports, prisons and similar sites.

  • No active disaster zones

Fires, floods, eruptions or conflict areas while the emergency response is running. That satellite time belongs to responders.

$NADIR

Launched on pump.fun. 1,000,000,000 supply. No presale.

At launch, pump.fun fee sharing routes 10,000 bps (100%) of $NADIR's creator fees to the Nadir imaging treasury. The creator fee is 0.30% of every trade on the bonding curve; after graduation the PumpSwap creator fee steps down as market cap grows. Routed fees come from trading, not donations.

Holding $NADIR is how you take part: nominate, second and vote. Your vote weighs what you hold at the 20:00 UTC snapshot, capped at 1% of votes cast. Holding does not pay anything out; the fees buy pictures.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Something missing? Ask on X.

How real is this?

The token and the fee route are real at launch. The ballot app, ordering and the Atlas are in development, and every image on this page is a rendered illustration, not a capture.

Tier 0 uses free public Sentinel-2 data, so a daily frame doesn't depend on fees at all. Tier 1 and Tier 2 only happen when fees cover them.

Who's the provider?

Tier 0 is Sentinel-2 from the EU's Copernicus programme, free and open. Tier 1 and Tier 2 are bought from commercial imagery providers through their normal ordering; the provider, satellite and price are on every receipt.

No provider has endorsed or partnered with Nadir.

What if it's cloudy?

Tier 0 uses the most recent Sentinel-2 scene with the least cloud over the target and prints the cloud cover on the frame. Tier 2 tasking orders carry a cloud limit, and the provider keeps trying on later passes until one meets it.

Clouds never hold up the next ballot. Several orders can be in flight at once.

Can whales pick every day?

No wallet counts for more than 1% of the votes cast. Splitting a bag across wallets gets around a per-wallet cap, so it is a speed bump, not a wall.

Two more rules help: seconds (one per wallet) decide who makes the ballot, and a place within 50 km of any winner from the last 30 days can't be nominated.

Can I pick my house?

No. Private homes, people, military and critical infrastructure, and active disaster zones are struck before the ballot. Nadir images places, not people.

Where are images stored?

Each frame is published as the original file (a GeoTIFF where the provider supplies one) plus a web preview. Files are pinned on IPFS and linked from the Atlas. The SHA-256 on Solana is of the original, so any copy can be checked.

Commercial frames are bought with a license that allows public display. Where a license only allows a preview, the Atlas says so on the frame.

What does holding $NADIR do?

It lets you nominate, second and vote, weighted by what you hold at the 20:00 UTC snapshot, with a 1% per-wallet cap. It doesn't pay anything out: creator fees go to imagery, not to holders.
